Being the BeLoved

Living and serving as one who is deeply loved.

I'm glad you're here!

Welcome! I'm glad you are here! I'm Jennifer Clark. I'm a Dmin student and this site is part of my doctoral project which is a curriculum of Being the Beloved. My goal for this site and for my curriculum is that it be a guide for people to grow in their identity of being God's beloved

And a voice came from heaven,
"You are my Son, the Beloved; with you I am well pleased."

Join me in conversations about belovedness and books, art, and poetry!

Welcome to this section. This is where I have conversations about how we can deeply know the love of God not just in our heads with an abstract cerebral knowledge, but also in our hearts with a relational experiential knowledge in which our lives actually reflect an identity of belovedness.

Say hello to Chaco, my Australian Shepherd, as he looks out the window of my office on a rainy day. You can see his cute reflection in the window.

If we know in our head that God loves us, but we don’t feel that love in our gut or heart, there is hope. New experiences with God and with others, new images, can change our filters or lens through which we experience the love of God. We can begin to experience the love of God in ways that encompasses not only our head and belief but also our heart and life specifically our implicit relational knowledge.

Why Belovedness?

Renewing our Imagination

Let's consider engaging with art in its many forms—whether it’s music, painting, poetry, dance, or even a simple walk in nature. Art touches us in ways words cannot, connecting us to deeper parts of ourselves. Art helps us tap into our implicit knowledge, the emotions and thoughts, the nonverbal parts of ourselves.  Art is a vital part of life, helping us experience beauty and meaning in ways that can affirm our identity as God’s beloved. In a world flooded with images, it’s important to think about where we are putting our gaze. So, what forms of art do you enjoy? What kind of art helps you feel connected to God’s love?

"As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love."

About

Thanks for visiting this site!

Thank you for visiting this site! I pray it's caused you to pause, to take a breath and soak in the presence of the One who calls you by name and sings over you with dancing!

...A nugget about the picture at the top of the site is that it's Christ the Redeemer on Mount Corcovado in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. As a young twelve year old girl I was baptized in Rio de Janeiro. It would take me decades to begin to grasp the meaning of my baptism. Even now I continue to grow in my understanding of how my life has been hidden in Christ's and that as the Father speaks over the Son in His baptism so too He speaks over me that I am His beloved. As you've interacted with this site, I hope you've heard the voice of the Father saying, "You are my beloved."

Blessings,

Jennifer Clark
